💡 About AIMusicDetector.online
🎯 Our Mission
AIMusicDetector.online exists to give everyone — artists, labels, educators, creators, and curious listeners — free, transparent access to AI music detection. As AI music generation tools become increasingly capable and widespread, the ability to verify whether a track is human-made or AI-generated has become a practical necessity across the music ecosystem.
We believe that detection technology should not be gated behind expensive API subscriptions or enterprise contracts. Our tool runs entirely in your browser, processes nothing on our servers, and costs nothing to use.
🔬 Our Approach
Unlike tools that rely on proprietary watermarks or platform-specific lookup databases, our AI music detector is built on spectral signal processing: averaged magnitude spectra, local-minimum detrending, and a vector of codec-scale, baseline-band, and statistical features scored by an on-device model (see How it works).
The approach is platform-agnostic for generators that leave neural codec–style residuals — including Suno, Udio, Stable Audio, MusicGen, and future tools — while staying transparent about uncertainty on heavy MP3 chains.
Our methodology draws on published research including work presented at ISMIR 2025 on Fourier-domain artifacts in AI music, and ongoing developments in audio deepfake detection from the speech synthesis research community.
🔒 Privacy First
Every audio file you analyze stays on your device. We use the browser's native Web Audio API to decode and analyze your files locally. No audio data is ever transmitted to our servers. No account is required. No tracking of your files. The only data that reaches our infrastructure is standard web analytics (page views, not file contents).
⚠️ Honest Limitations
We're committed to transparency about what our tool can and cannot do:
- Results are probabilistic, not definitive. We provide a confidence score, not a legal determination.
- Heavy lossy compression (MP3 below 128kbps) can degrade detection accuracy by masking high-frequency artifacts.
- Heavily post-processed AI music may score lower on AI probability than lightly-processed outputs.
- Some electronic and heavily-produced human music shares characteristics with AI-generated audio and may yield false positives.
- The tool should not be used as the sole evidence in copyright disputes, competition disqualifications, or legal proceedings.
🌐 The Bigger Picture
AI music generation is not inherently problematic — it is a genuinely creative technology with legitimate artistic applications. Our tool is not designed to stigmatize AI-generated music, but to enable informed disclosure and verification. We support clear labeling of AI-generated content, and we believe transparency benefits both human artists and AI tool developers.
As detection and generation technologies evolve together, we'll continue updating our algorithms to reflect the current state of AI music synthesis. The free, open nature of this tool is our contribution to a more transparent music ecosystem.
